Joan Saks Berman, a native of Chicago, has been a New Mexico resident since 1984, having moved there from the Navajo reservation in Arizona, where she worked as a psychologist.

Her writing has been published in professional journals and books, as well as in local publications such as The Albuquerque Tribune, Crosswinds, Women’s Voices, and Prime Time. Her occasional blog can be read at www.momentumandmemento.blogspot.com.

Berman is a prize-winning photographer. She has traveled widely in the U.S.,
Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and Latin America. Her work is published in books and magazines, and has been used to illustrate web sites for local companies.
